The Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund was created by Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin. This duo is still the founders’ owners of ‘’The Phoenix New Times’’. They are renowned for the legal fights that they have won.

The Frontera Fund was begun by the money that the two acquired as apprehension compensation. This was after they wrote the story of his evil deeds on the front page of their paper.

When Sheriff Joe heard about it, he never took it kindly. He arrested them at midnight from their homes and drove them to a secret location.
